Sukriti – Art & Craft Club

Objectives

Sukriti club emphasized that art is not just a handicraft, it is the transmission of feelings that artists have experienced. Craft is passionately creating something with your hands. Club aims to develop and enhance the creativity and imagination of the students. It discovers student’s hobbies as a profession by polishing their artistic skills and providing them a platform to exhibit their talent. The key features of clubs are learn and earn.it is the club of students, by the students and for the students.

Activities

2024-25

  • The Handicraft Rakhi Exhibition held on August 13–14, 2024. The event provided a platform for students to showcase their handmade rakhis, paper mache art, Kuroshiya gift items, tray gardens, Laddu-Gopal costumes, and other decorative pieces. With 50 student participants and 23 stalls, the exhibition attracted over 400 visitors.
  • “Passion to Profession” organized on September 25–26, 2024 by Centre for Entrepreneurship Development and Entrepreneurship Club, in collaboration with the Sukriti Art & Craft Club, this event aimed at motivating students to develop an entrepreneurial mindset.
  •  One-day workshop on Rajasthani Traditional Paper Mache Art organized on October 9, 2024. The workshop was graced by Ms. Kumkum Agarwal, an esteemed alumna, founder of Kreation Hub, and an expert in decorative arts. Enthusiastic participation from 55 students made the event engaging and insightful. The primary focus was on crafting pooja thalis, diyas, and Shubh Labh signs for Diwali decorations, emphasizing artitistic creativity
  • Kanoria’s Fiesta’24, held on October 24–25, 2024. This vibrant two-day exhibition featured 40 stalls with 80 student entrepreneurs showcasing handmade candles, diyas, jewelry, textiles, organic Diwali decorations, and food items. The event promoted eco-friendly, handmade festive products while equipping students with essential entrepreneurial skills such as customer interaction, pricing, and branding. The enthusiastic participation and positive visitor feedback made it a great success.

2023-24

  • Rakhi-Making Workshop” on 12 August, 2023. Ms. Khushi Bansal, a specialist in decorative items, and Ms. Akansha Goyal, an alumna, guided students in creating various Rakhis and rakhi related decorative items, encouraging handmade rakhi by threads, stars, mirrors, pearls and flowers. Resin Rakhi-Art was also demonstrated to the students.
  • Rakhi-Exhibition cum Sale from 23 to 25 August, 2023, where 40 students showcased their handmade products.
  • A “7-day workshop on Handmade Business Ideas” from 4 to 11October, 2023, led by experienced artists and crafters, featured sessions on Diwali décor, paper mashing, professional makeup skills, raisin art, handmade paper art, cake making, and social media marketing skills.
  • A “3- day Fiesta 2023″ from 30 October to 1 November, 2023, collaboratively organized by the club, showcasing handmade chocolates, Diwali decorations, textile products, jewellery, Food and more.
  • The club collaborated with RUWA on a joint art project, where a student of club, Harpreet Kaur, trained needy ladies in making paper bags and envelopes. Additionally, mehndi programs were organized for teachers on Teej and Karva Chuth.
