Standards Club

Objectives

The Standards Club is an initiative of Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), Government of India.

Its main objectives are to:

  • Educate students on the societal advantages of standardization.
  • Preparing students for the industry upon completion of their studies, by enhancing their technical knowledge and awareness.
  • Organizing a range of activities focused on Indian Standards, product marking, quality certification, and the importance of safe, reliable goods.
  • Inculcate quality consciousness based on standardization so they appreciate the significance of quality.
  • Train students so they serve as a catalyst to improve societal awareness on standardization.

Activities

2024-25

  • Poster Making Competition was organised on 11th February, 2025 with the aim to spread awareness about Indian Standards in consumer goods through creative expression. About 25 students designed informative posters.
  • Standard Writing Competition was organized on February 08, 2025. Dr. Shraddha Arya, Mentor Bureau of Indian Standards, Rajasthan State made students aware of various dimensions related to the standard bureau. 30 students participated in the competition.
  • Quiz Competition on Indian Standards for Consumer Goods was held on August 31, 2024 . About 60 student members of the club participated in the competition.
