The Department of Mathematics organized a PowerPoint presentation session for Postgraduate (PG) students

On November 19, the Department of Mathematics organized a PowerPoint presentation session for Postgraduate (PG) students as part of their academic and skill-development activities. The primary objective of this event was to enhance students’ presentation abilities, strengthen their subject knowledge, and encourage the use of digital tools to effectively communicate mathematical ideas. The session included all PG Mathematics students from Semesters I and III. Students individually presented on specific mathematical topics related to their curriculum, viz. Linear Algebra, Real and Complex Analysis, Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations, Abstract Algebra, Topology, Functional Analysis, and Numerical Methods.
Faculty members evaluated the presentations based on predefined rubrics such as content accuracy, clarity, slide design, confidence, and ability to handle questions. Students made effective use of diagrams, graphs, animations, and mathematical software (LaTeX, GeoGebra, Mathematica, etc.).
Most students demonstrated a strong understanding of their topics. The quality of slides was generally good, with clear formatting and well-structured content.
