On December 2, 2025, students from the Department of Mathematics along with head of the department Ms. Rishi Dassani visited the historic Jantar Mantar observatory in Jaipur. The visit began with a guided tour by the faculty, where the students were introduced to various astronomical instruments, including time measurement tools, zodiac instruments, Jaiprakash Yantra, Rashi valay Yantra, Digansh Yantra and the Ram Yantra.
The students were provided with in-depth explanations about how these instruments work and their connection to mathematics. They learned about the methods used to calculate the positions of planets in the solar system and the mathematical precision involved in these measurements. The Ram Yantra, used for measuring the altitude of celestial bodies, was highlighted as an example of how geometry is applied in astronomy. Students gained practical insights into how mathematical principles are applied in real-world astronomical observations.
