परिचर्चाः लैंगिक असमानता से समानता की ओर एक पहल कानोड़िया पीजी महिला महाविद्यालय, जयपुर के सेंटर फॉर जेंडर स्ट्डीज द्वारा दिनांक 23 अगस्त, 2025 को “लैंगिक रूढ़िवादिता एवं भूमिकाएँ“ विषय पर शहीद लेफ्टिनेंट अभय पारीक राजकीय बालिका उच्च माध्यमिक विद्यालय, गांधी नगर, जयपुर में एक परिचर्चा का आयोजन किया गया। सेंटर कन्वीनर डॉ. स्वीटी माथुर ने एक प्रश्नावली के माध्यम से छात्राओं से सवाल-जबाव के दौरान इस बात पर ज़ोर दिया कि लैंगिक समानता की शुरुआत घर से होनी चाहिए। उन्होंने छात्राओं को अपने परिवारों में साझा घरेलू ज़िम्मेदारियों का अभ्यास करने और उनकी वकालत करने हेतु प्रोत्साहित किया। डॉ. पूर्वा भारद्वाज ने अपने संबोधन में छात्राओं का ध्यान उन रूढ़ियों को तोड़ने पर केंद्रित किया जो अक्सर घरेलू ज़िम्मेदारियाँ केवल महिलाओं को सौंपती हैं। इस दौरान सेंटर सदस्य डॉ. साक्षी शर्मा एवं डॉ. दमयंती सोढ़ा भी उपस्थित रही। इस परिचर्चा की पृष्ठभूमि में महाविद्यालय में 20 अगस्त को 400 छात्राओं पर “पारिवारिक गतिविधियों में लैंगिक सहभागिता“ विषय पर कराया गया सर्वेक्षण रहा, जिसमें छात्राओं ने लैंगिक रूढ़िवादिता पर अपने विचार व्यक्त किए। विद्यालय की प्रधानाचार्या सुमित्रा डूडी ने ’नो बैग डे’ के अवसर पर आयोजित इस परिचर्चा में छात्राओं का उत्साहवर्द्धन करते हुए कहा कि, ’लड़कियों का सच्चा सशक्तिकरण केवल शिक्षा और करियर के अवसरों तक ही सीमित नहीं है, बल्कि घर पर मानसिकता बदलने से भी जुड़ा है।’ परिचर्चा के संचालन में विद्यालय के अंग्रेज़ी विभाग में कार्यरत व्याख्याता डॉ. सीमा बाबरा विलियम का महत्वपूर्ण योगदान रहा। महाविद्यालय प्राचार्य डॉ. सीमा अग्रवाल ने इस आयोजन की सराहना की। इस परिचर्चा में 115 छात्राओं की सक्रिय भागीदारी रही।
Discussion: An Initiative From Gender Inequality to Equality The Centre for Gender Studies, Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya, Jaipur organised a discussion on “Gender stereotypes and Roles” on 23 August 2025 at Shaheed Lieutenant Abhay Pareek Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Gandhi Nagar, Jaipur. During a question-answer session with the students through a questionnaire, Centre Convener Dr. Sweety Mathur emphasised that gender equality should begin from home. She encouraged the students to practice and advocate shared domestic responsibilities in their families. Dr. Poorva Bhardawaj, in her address, focused the students on breaking the stereotypes that often assign domestic responsibilities only to women. Centre members Dr. Sakshi Sharma and Dr. Damyanti Sodha were also present during this period. The background of this discussion was a survey conducted on 400 students on 20 August in the college, in which the students expressed their views on “Gender Participation in Family Pursuit”. While encouraging the students in this session organized on the occasion of ‘No Bag Day’, the Principal of the school, Sumitra Dudi, said, ‘The true empowerment of girls is not limited only to education and career opportunities, but is also linked to changing the mindset at home.’ Dr. Seema Babra William, lecturer working in the English department of the school, played an important role in conducting the interaction. College Principal Dr. Seema Agrawal appreciated this event. 115 students actively participated in this discussion.
