HERITAGE WEEK CELEBRATION

World Heritage Week 2025, on the theme “Preserving the Past, Inspiring the Future,” was celebrated by the Department of History, Kanoria PG Mahila Mahavidyalaya, from 19th November to 25th November, 2025. A series of activities were successfully conducted to raise awareness among students about the importance of conserving and preserving our heritage and to promote cultural diversity. These included a visit to Nahargarh Fort, highlighting its historical significance; documentary screenings of History of Gingee Fort, Narmada: The Eternal River, and Ancient India’s Marvellous Architecture, all focusing on heritage conservation; and an educational visit to the National Archives of India, Record Centre, Jaipur, to inculcate research skills and critical thinking among students. Students also enthusiastically participated in a photography contest on the theme “Capturing Heritage” and an online quiz titled “Indian Heritage: Tangible & Intangible.”Professor Dr. Sharad Rathore, HOD, History, IIS University, Jaipur delivered a guest lecture on “Exploring the Foundations of Indian Heritage during the Mauryan and Gupta Periods”.The week concluded with a vibrant skit, “Folk Lore Brought to Stage,” based on the five folk deities of Rajasthan namely Pabuji, Hadbuji, Ramdev, Meha Ji, and Gogaji, known for their bravery, wisdom, and spiritual significance.
