The Department of Physics, in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), organized an insightful guest lecture on the occasion of National Energy Conservation Day. The lecture, delivered by Dr. Ankur Jain, Director IQAC, Head, Centre of Renewable Energy, Professor (Physics), Suresh Gyan Vihar University, focused on the critical topic of “Role of Hydrogen Energy towards Energy Conservation.”
The session was attended by a multidisciplinary audience, including students and faculty members of various departments. The objective of the lecture was to create awareness about the potential of hydrogen energy as a sustainable and eco-friendly alternative to conventional energy sources.
Dr. Ankur Jain began the session by highlighting the importance of energy conservation and the global shift towards renewable energy. He emphasized the unique properties of hydrogen as a clean fuel and its role in reducing carbon emissions. The speaker elaborated on the production, storage, and applications of hydrogen energy, with specific examples from the transportation and industrial sectors.
He also discussed the technological challenges and policy frameworks required to promote hydrogen energy on a larger scale.
The event successfully enriched the participants’ understanding of hydrogen energy’s role in energy conservation, encouraging them to explore innovative solutions in the field of sustainable energy. The lecture concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating Dr. Ankur Jain for sharing his valuable insights and the attendees for their active participation. Dr. Jain also throws some light on Ammonia as an emerging fuel.
This initiative reflected the department’s commitment to promoting sustainable development goals (SDGs) and fostering an innovative mind-set among students and faculty.
