A two days workshop on Field and Herbarium Techniques was organised for PG students on 20th and 21st January, 2023 with the objective of how to find a field for the collection of plant specimens and techniques for making herbarium sheets. On day 1, the students visited Herbarium(RUBL) at the Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan. Mr. Vikram, Herbarium Assistant at University of Rajasthan gave demonstration on the collection and processing of plant specimens as well as the maintenance, storage & preservation of herbarium sheets. On day 2, Dr. Praveen Mohil, Asst. Professor, Department of Botany, University of Rajasthan highlighted the significance of maintaining herbarium as well as focussed on career opportunities for taxonomists in various state and national level organizations. 32 students attended the workshop. The workshop was beneficial for the students as they learnt to collect plants from the field as well as prepare herbarium sheets.
