Signature Campaign and WASTE PAPER COLLECTION FOR RECYCLING

The International Day for the preservation of the ozone layer was celebrated on 16th September, 2022. The Montreal Protocol for the abatement of substances that deplete the Ozone Layer was signed in 1987. Department of Geography and Nature Club organised a Guest Lecture ,  Signature Campaign and WASTE PAPER COLLECTION FOR RECYCLING to celebrate World Ozone Day for creating awareness. Madam Dr. Seema Agrawal( Principal ) in Her Welcome Address threw light on the importance of such programmes and motivated all the participants to contribute at individual level for building up of sustainable community and appreciated the efforts taken up by the Department and Nature Club. The logo of Nature Club was also released which was made by Ms. Manvi , Tiya Agarwal and Shagun ( B. A Part I) students. Prof. T.I. Khan:  Director (Retd.), Indira Gandhi Centre of HEEPS, University of Rajasthan was invited as a Guest Speaker. The theme of the Talk was , MONTREAL PROTOCOL @35: Global Co-operation Protecting Life On Earth In His lecture, He explained basic structure of atmosphere ,  gases present and their utility and importance for sustaining life on Earth.With Industrial Development and  process of Urbanization , developmental activities has brought changes in the natural characteristics of the elements present in the atmosphere. As per the study, hazardous chemicals used earlier in the Developed Nations  are depleting the  ozone layer. This gas absorbs an ample amount of harmful radiation entering into  the earth. This bluish colour gas  is a boon as well as a bane for us. It protects from harmful UV rays but is also destructive when we inhale it. At the end of the session, He also answered various queries of Faculty members and students Thus as a whole this seminar was very informative as well as very interesting.
