Debate Competition On Role of Technology in Mathematics

On September 13, department of mathematics organised a debate competition on role of technology in mathematics to encourage critical thinking about the use of technology in learning maths and to help students express and defend their opinions clearly.
Students explored both advantages and disadvantages of using technology in mathematics. Such activities improve public speaking and research skills of students. It encouraged critical thinking about the use of technology in learning math.
Students gained a better understanding of both sides of the argument.
Participants improved their debating and communication skills.
The students became more aware of the impact of technology in education.
The debate encouraged students to think more deeply about how they use tools like calculators, math apps, or AI in their studies.
Students of B.Sc. and M.Sc. of mathematics enthusiastically participated in the debate. Winners were encouraged with prizes by HoD Ms. Rishi Dassani and assistant professor Dr. Swati.
