Clubs and Associations

Kanoria college provides a platform to facilitate the education process, and enhance their understanding.

Academic Club

The Academic Club is a forum where a constant dialogue on subjects of varied nature takes place, which is an essential requirement of education. Eminent scholars ranging from educationists, writers, social activists to environmentalists, scientists, doctors and experts in technology contribute to this exercise meant to examine the world around us which affects, creates and destroys our lives.

Commerce Association

It organizes interactive activities for students in order to develop their interest in the discipline of commerce. For this purpose the association conducts training of Data-entry, Tally, IT Return filing, SPSS, etc; organizes talks, financial literacy workshops, group discussions, quiz and symposia; plans visits to a bank, the stock-exchange, account outsourcing units, raw-material processing units,etc.

Creative Writing Club

Creativity is an important aspect of human life. It is a natural representation of human feelings and emotions. Creativity exists in every individual, a formal guidance, training and practice is required to shape it and to sharpen this inborn talent. Creative writing club has been playing a major role in the college. Besides creative writing the club gives a platform to the students to polish their poetry writing, reciting skills in particular. Many litterateurs are invited to motivate and enlighten the students. Workshops, Poetry Recitation and Writing competitions (Prose and Poetry) are organized from time to time.

Personality Development and Career

The club helps the students to identify their innate skills and to match it with the recent trends. The objective of this club is to nurture a confident personality which is achieved through polishing the communication skills both verbal and non-verbal. Effective self presentation is the key to success and career building. The club enhances the students' skills through proper guidance and training.

Humanities Association

It focuses on developing a sensitive sensibility amongst students. The association includes within its fold disciplines of Philosophy, Psychology, Hindi, Sanskrit and English Literature.

Year around activities would include:

  •   Shlok/Prose competitions

Science Association

It focuses on varied approaches to enhance awareness, inquisitiveness and application based approach to science amongst students. This association organizes power point presentations, poster and model making, seminar, quiz competitions and field trips to help students study the physical, chemical and biological aspect of non-natural and natural resources and diverse flora and fauna. It also prepares a platform for career talks and sessions to provide manifold career options in the field of science and its fraternity with other areas of knowledge. The association organizes programmes to facilitate learning and creating interest in science.

Career and Placement Cell

It makes various career options available to students from different streams. The cell provides a platform for an interface between career institutes/industries/placement vendors and students. Every week career talks and training sessions in employability skills are organized in order to groom students for their prospective careers. Students desirous of seeking placements through campus recruitments or internships in corporate houses,laboratories and industries may join this forum and become better informed graduates. To register with the cell, they need to fill a form and express their career/job preferences.Reputed companies like Infosys, Genpact, Reliance, HBC News, ETV, NIIT, NDTV etc. and other hiring agencies visit the campus.

Social Sciences Associations

It provides opportunities to members to discuss and analyse issues related to the disciplines of Economics, Political Science, Sociology, History and Public Administration. Expert speakers are invited to talk about contemporary issues throughout the year. The association also organizes debates, movies, exhibitions, quiz, field trips etc. The association plans to hold coaching classes for public service and other examinations also.

Nature Club

The club aims to motivate the young minds to give back to the environment what they constantly receive from it. Through its various fun filled activities like field trips, quizzes, street plays, exhibitions and competitions, environment related movies, the club creates awareness about the wonders of planet earth as well as challenges faced by it. The focus is on creating awareness and live in harmony with nature. It is an interdisciplinary club wherein students of all streams can join as volunteers.

Entrepreneurship Club

The club tries to nurture the seeds of entrepreneurship and self-employment in the students. It gives them exposure to the world of business through interaction with successful businesspersons. Entrepreneurship training is conducted every year to inculcate in them core business skills and enable them to convert their hobbies and innovative ideas into business.

Art and Craft Club

"Art, needs no words for expressions"

The Art and Craft club aims to provide the students with a runway from where their creativity and imagination take a flight. The club believes that art is not just a medium of expression but is in fact, a way of life. The club hopes to equip the students with the skill-sets that give a direction to their artistic impulse by conducting workshops on Mehndi Art, Best out of waste, Nail Art, Diya making, Face Painting, Rakhi making, Jewellery making & Paper quilling, Tie & Dye, Craft exhibitions, programmes and many more such activities.

Natyam (Theatre) Club

'Great theatre is about challenging how we think. It encourages us to fantasize about a world we aspire for.' Natyam Club is a forum for students to sharpen their self-expression. Every year the club organises theatre workshops, focusing on personality development, confidence building, self-modulation, vocal skill enhancement and acting skills. The club produces stage shows, street 'nukkad' plays and huge annual production for college

Abhivyakti Club

To put oneself across, be it in a social gathering, classroom, family, interview or any other formal or informal gathering; art of communication is the master key to all. Knowledge can be possesed by many but correct presentation of that knowledge is an art. The one who knows this art of communicating and presenting oneself with confidence is the winner in today's world. For enhancing self-confidence among students for better communication, Abhivyakti Club organises various activities like Public Speaking, Extempore, Debates, Group discussions and Workshops through which students are motivated to speak and develop their communicative competence.

Swaranchal (Dance-Music) Club

The club provides a platform to develop music skills. It creates new opportunities for talented students in the field of dance, singing and in programmes of state and national level. Seminars, Workshops and Stage performances are also organised in various Folk and Classical forms of Dance, apart from Singing and Vocal practice that give a polish.

National Service Scheme

National Service Scheme promotes social consciousness, a sense of discipline and provides a unique opportunity to the students for team work and constant interaction with the community. NSS carries out useful work for the community through camps and regular activities.

  •   Creating awareness in people about social evils through rallies and finding practical solution to individual and community problems.
  •   Awareness for health and hygiene.
  •   Literacy in slum areas.
  •   Creative workshops in collaboration with various NGOs.
  •   Celebrating various special occasions as sadbhawna diwas, teacher's day, literacy day, NSS day, Blood Donation and World AIDS day etc.
  •   Participation in State and National level camps.

NSS plays an important role in the overall personality development of students by inculcating leadership,planning and management skills in them. The NSS certificate provides a benefit of 2% to 5% marks at the time of admission in advanced study courses. The work experience helps them find avenues for self employment. NSS has received recognition from the State govt. and the college has won all the three prestigious awards - Best Institution, Best NSS Volunteer and Officer in the recent past.
